Destination Known

As the heat of the desert overcomes
I persevere
Walk on into the vastness
Of the unknown
Relying solely on myself
But allowing faith
To be an ally

Having faith allows me view
Of an oasis
With water flowing
Trees casting shadow
Welcoming the traveler
From his weary
Traversed route

This desert seems smaller now
As the sun descends
And the chills set in
Life emerges from the sand
I continue on
Around the activity of life
With eyes on the oasis
