Despite The Tears

This morning, a notification roused me from sleep. I picked up my phone, and the message resonated in my mind: “Annie, I love you, despite the tears.”

We cannot overlook the negativity present in the world. Our love remains genuine and sincere. It demands dedication. True love is straightforward, much like a newborn’s trust in its mother.

As we gaze into each other's eyes, we recognize our history. We've both been dishonest with one another. I ponder if I’m the ultimate liar or if he plays the role of King Lear. Balancing honesty with vulnerability is crucial. Pay close attention, respond gently, and communicate effectively with body language. I must assert my position.

“Fear not, want not” illustrates how we frequently misinterpret others. I can’t help but wonder why he wandered the shadowy streets of Accra at 3 a.m. He appears to be searching for love in familiar settings, pursuing echoes of his childhood.

I advised him against cutting his hair; youth can be deceiving. Older men frequently take advantage of that desperate youth, and innocent charm can lead to complications: “The belly for the meat, and the meat for the belly.”

Thus, my response is no. You can learn a lot about a man based on his actions when he's hungry.
