Desperation

The dagger in my heart,
It twists,
Alas, My love for you has only hurt me.
I should have known better
Than To fall in love with
Nothing less than a prince
Who saw himself as little more than a pig.
Each kiss... Each embrace,
More desperate than the last;
I should have known.

I really like this - you have insight as to a good prince, "who saw himself as little more than a pig," without a big ego. Welcome to PS.
