Desperate for treatment

A life without sparkle
Can only look to the past and marvel
At the life that was taken for granted
Any the peace that was forever lasted

We would of never guessed
How an entire life would be depressed
The changes are astonishing
A series of minor events are life abolishing

Starting with some minor constipation
Lead to this adaptation
A journey so massive
It’s now becoming impassive

On reflection life was easy
Living life free and cheeky
No one could of imagined this
All I can do now is reminisce

Can’t consume anything
Once twice everything
Can’t drink much
Fragile it hurts to touch

Bones visible for all too see
You are a shadow and a detainee
Your own mind and body locks you away
Out of sight to decay

When was vomiting so much normal
Keeping you at home is abnormal
The strength you used to possess
Has disappeared no less

Sleep is something we all need
Fear of death is like a growing weed
But when someone is on deaths door
It’s easy for others to ignore

Always waiting on a doctor
To do their job proper
They are lazy and slow
Meanwhile time is borrowed

It’s only a matter of time until fate arrives
And this chapter in in the archives
A system designed to let people die
With the most painful goodbye

Today we can only try and make it to tomorrow
Put aside the pleading and the sorrow
As no one will hear the pain and suffering
Which makes this more troubling

I plead I beg for the right treatment
A response so infrequent
Side stepping and dodging
Almost as though they are plotting

I do believe some people are chosen
Because the system is so broken
To have their life cut short
Because they can’t be bothered to support

Life is in the hands of others
Who have no problem in letting the colours
Of their patients whither away
Until they go grey

The problems are never ending
They get bigger and unrelenting
Vomiting 30 times a day
Whole body in disarray

It would be simple to take a pill
All it does is infill
Nothing absorbs as it should
I wish that doctors understood

The vital things that keep us alive
Are what we need to thrive
Those same things do nothing
But plugging

The extreme exhaustion from this disease
Has her on her knees
Everyday is a battle of wills
See another day or it kills

This is just an existence
But the body will not put up much resistance
A massive injection of infection could be the last.

A once vibrant person reduced to a shadow of her former self
