Despair

(F.F.L. This one is for you)

His sorrow silently began
He talked to my eyes
Lonely words etched in twilight
Descended...
My silence met him...

For his eyes revealed words
That could not be spoken aloud;
Yet, there wasn't a need to speak
For the meaning was clear
I'd gazed into the eyes of despair...
