Desire Lost

Desire as fuel decants in my veins, In search of some triggered ignition, To spark a sequenced reaction, Soul-driven fission, Covert blend of ancient chemistry. Forever the lost are lost, eclipsed From the rigorous vision of hunters In their loneliest hours, Their darkest communion, Lost to the rape of nagging hopelessness. Desire as a Sabine whip, cracked my heart, Traced cryptic welts upon the surface tissue, To leave unread ciphers In beating contours, To which the eyes of searchers are blind by instinct. The inscrutable monitors fail to see, And those who radiate clearly are not found, Hidden in plain sight, And never by moonlight met, Such impotence love’s greatest irony.
