Desire
Standing in the corner, face hid.
Edging in for a closer glance is what she did.
Strong cheek bones, dark hollow eyes.
There is an attraction to him, she can not deny.
A hint of a smile, with white perfect teeth.
A possibility of danger lurks underneath.
It's part of the attraction, a part of the pull.
The wanting and emotions make her feel full.
Just a few more steps to close that space.
Just a few more steps, and they'll be face to face.
Is his heart pounding, does he share her fears?
Can he feel the blood rushing in his ears?
How can he look so calm, while inside she's dying?
Perhaps, his outward appearance is lying.
Can she really feel so strong, so soon?
It's exciting to know the impending doom.
Will his strong arms hold her safe and secure?
Is she strong enough for all she'll endure?
She knows this will not be an easy task.
A knot in her stomach, for the favor she must ask.
With nothing between them, except tension and air,
she looks into his eyes and is full of despair.
She moves her hair and leans her head to the side,
and asks "What was it like, the night that you died?"
"Make me immortal, like you, so i can walk the Earth,
I don't share the feeling of it being a curse."
His smile falters and he slowly shakes his head.
"I can't have it on my conscience for you to be dead."
She begs and pleads for him to take her away.
She doesn't think she can live this life another day.
He adds "Don't ask that of me, it doesn't feel right."
She leans in closer and whispers, "Please, just bite."
