Desert Wandering
Perilous!!! I dare not stay in such situation
Where terror prevails from attacking wild beasts
Midst tormenting sight of barren land
Leaving me gripped with solitude-angst.
Aware of my dread, I pray to God, beseeching Him…
To forbid me from wandering away from His serenity’s hedge.
Torturous!!! I trust God to help me bear the rigors of such adventure…
Where my faith will be tested under tribulation’s crucible
Exposing the depth of my character when it seems I’m just alone
In my search for an oasis in the desert of futility
Vanquishing worthlessness’ consternation and self-pity’s condemnation
To emerge triumphant because of the Lord’s grace.
Disastrous!!! I was already warned, “Never go astray deliberately…
Beware of wandering alone, for such is terrifying…”
Spiritually speaking, that’s tantamount to leaving God’s perfect will*
Worst, it is escaping from the best place the Lord designed for me
Hence, I beg that when I start to slide back from His security’s fence
He'll pull me toward His heart, quenching my thirst with His pardon-delight.
* Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
