Descry These Gifts

Descry These Gifts


Much to discover on this lovely earth:
   behold the beauty of her rising sun,
      detect the rays that paint the waking sky,
determine how her bright, new hope's begun.

Discern the way our morning joy unfolds
   as life awakens with a brand new day. 
      Espy the landscapes that surround us all
and note their simple beauty on display.

Observe the rolling mountains neath her sky;
   perceive their summer green or autumn gold.
      These scenes reveal majestic flowing curves;
her art we see, before our eyes, unfold.

We need to pause...allow earth to disclose
   how sights of nature's beauty feed the soul.
      Lead eyes to spot each view that clearly shows
her worth...descry these gifts that make us whole.
