Descending
Descending
After the rape,
earth's surface trembles
giving birth to dying trees.
Grasping for a straw,
breathing death's face
of poison air.
Rivers flow motionless
and fish swell and bloat.
The sun shifts,
swallowed by the moon.
Clouds hang with depression,
on open doors of electric signs
flashing phobia.
Man’s ambition
Eats nuclear waste.
Barren lands wed drought
to tomorrow's future,
crushed under natures foot.
