Depth Charge

Away, away, yet bound for love And what, this hindrance hounding still For feelings left but unexpressed I hold back, yet against my will And though I voyage in my search I touch but what the surface knows Afraid to plunge into the deep Exploding as this feeling grows But forge ahead and not hold back I must if love is to be found To reach my destination and to not again run ship aground Remembering as a youth, the fear of unrequited love

Loved this poem Mike which many can so easily relate to. The poem flows so well, so well expressed with great rhyming. Unrequited love can be so devastating and yet courage is needed, hope in your heart too, if true love is to be discovered. Your poem of uncertainty yet strength and believe to surge ahead regardless is so beautifully captured here. Thank you Mike. :):)

The fear of unrequited love is deep and real! Especially as you’ve mentioned here too “ For feelings left but unexpressed I hold back, yet against my will” so many words unsaid feelings unexpressed! And you’ve written about it so well. I really felt “I must if love is to be found” i felt this poem deeply! Hits home

Perfect cadence, which isn't easy. Unrequited love is the saddest of all, whether it's one sided or the two have impossible circumstances. Awesome poem
