Depressed Are We, So Let Us Be
At night we do drown in depression and darkness because we have no heart,
At our darkest hours we see no reason to keep going on, to posses a living art.
At times of sickness we feel of wretched souls seeing no opening for hope or light,
At lonely hours we wish someone would end our despairing plight.
In the dawn we pray for a little warmth of the heart,
In a sunrise we wish to see love strangle depression; a poised dreadful dart.
In the shining light we hope we see something other than our own splintering form,
In any light all we see is that we are ragged and torn.
Are you the kind of people we despise?
Are you one of those ignorant people only worrying about your own demise?
Are you the fretfully perfect and loved and young?
Are you a rebel of which Christ was hung?
You ask us why we are so rude,
You never seem to realize your stabbing words do come out crude.
You blame us burn-outs gays and emo's for the worst, though we are inferior,
You are the real scum you havoc evoked government controlling superiors.
I am a soul unafraid to show you that I too can speak,
I am a person who stands out to help others who are meek.
I am the girl who will walk through a wall of flame,
I am here to show you inspiration can become from a living thing untame.
At our most unbearable times we seek out some sort of consolation; we desire help,
In time we see through others stories to recognize who the are from their scars.
Are you here to be unjust and harm us further, to pass on your nasty beliefs?
You have to leave here if so, because I want us meeting to be less than brief,
I am just here to say that we are unique and depressed so let us simply be.
