Depend On You

Depend on you

There are footsteps that lead to my door,
but then they disappeared,
There used to be a pair of them,
back when you lived here

There was a time when laughter ruled,
the day and then the night
Now your laughter's just a memory,
frozen in the heat of time

Bridge
Daydreams are what helps me, make it through each day
Sweet memories sustain me, ever since you went away

Pre chorus
Life can be so cruel...
it's not fair living without you

Chorus
I could-depend on you
I could always depend on you
Even in my darkest hour,
your love would shine on through
You would- lift me up out of the mire
Extinguish all my blazing fire
Tell me- now what am I supposed to do?
(I used to) depend on you
(I used to) depend on you

I remember those lazy days,
we'd spend out on the lake
We always thought that they would last,
that was our last mistake

It's hard for me to face this life,
living out here all alone
Even ripples run away from me,
when I'm out here throwing stones

Bridge
Daydreams are what helps me, make it through each day
Sweet memories sustain me, ever since you went away

Pre chorus
Life can be so cruel...
it's not fair living without you

Chorus
I could-depend on you
I could always depend on you
Even in my darkest hour,
your love would shine on through
You would- lift me up out of the mire
Extinguish all my blazing fire
Tell me- now what am I supposed to do?
(I used to) depend on you
(I used to) depend on you

I look out into, the bleak black sky,
and I wonder, where you are
I think of you every time I see,
another shooting star

I wish that you were still here,
to bring joy back to my life
but for now I'll rewind memories,
to help get me, through this night

Bridge
Daydreams are what helps me, make it through each day
Sweet memories sustain me, ever since you went away

Pre chorus
Life can be so cruel...
it's not fair living without you

Chorus
I could-depend on you
I could always depend on you
Even in my darkest hour,
your love would shine on through
You would- lift me up out of the mire
Extinguish all my blazing fire
Tell me- now what am I supposed to do?

(I used to) depend on you
(I used to) depend on you

repeat

You have a very romantic heart. And you’ve captured quite well the loneliness of one broken. Deb
