Departing Soon

Hello, dear friend, it’s been a while
I hope to hear you’re doing well
How are you feeling, how’s the family?
Please chat with me and sit a spell.

The rooms of life have lost their sunshine
As age, like draperies, come to close
The sun still strong is trying hard now
To reach me here, before repose

So, speak dear friend, of the outside
Tell me of the sun’s warming grace
Let me know then, before I travel
By gazing at your smiling face
