Demons

i have many demons living within
fear, loathing, and cowardice; the first few to come in
pain, angst, and loneliness are resident vices
Whether friend or foe, neither do I know

but there is a king amongst them all
a true deceiver
a pathological liar
he makes me a believer

I was a returning patron
in him I looked for love and faith
the will to live, another day

he makes these promises but never delivers
it was long before i realised, this angel was pure evil
the rope he handed me, was a noose ever so tight

who would've guessed
they called him

hope

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed New Year.
