Democracy

Democracy

Bird of prey I see you’re here today to slay
Just like you do each and every day

A bird that spies from the skies then swoops to rip out your eyes
No surprise and no submission light dies

I see you prey first morning rise like the newspaper lies
Tomorrow another one screams but you do not hear behind that which flies

A permanent food festival as more and more are taken to the skies
The prey lies full bellied and delights in schemes for fortune ties

I apologise if you do not see my burning eyes tired of prey decapitating lives with precision of knives
We will all die of our own surprise that silence isn’t democracy but children’s cries
