Dementia Looks In the Mirror

Awful hair is filthy Hairy legs are terrible too Whose body is this? Asked the raggedy lady in blue. Her mind laughed of course Knowing something was amiss Dementia coaxed her into action She gave a stranger a kiss It is time to bathe you Said her uniformed keepers You have to catch me first! She ran off in her sleepers.

My dad had Alzheimers - it was horrible!

Ah, this is so typical. My mother-in-law escaped one nursing home. We had to put her in a locked ward. It was heart-breaking, but you have no other choice when they reach a certain level.

My father had to be in a locked ward too.
