Wonderful imagery for those period of time when buckets were used to bring up the water from the well, and those wells were useful for all farm jobs, I enjoyed your tanka, actually I’m just done with a haiku in the same subject. Have a wonderful day Dear Sara.

So clever the rain, although a spoiler. So clever the poem, which is a pleasure to read.

Harry, The rain is a necessary part of life but it can spoil a party, time to plant or time to reap but does cleanse the air, ground and all around. I wonder if the weather bothers a man from the UK. Sara

That Tanka...is like a tank of water. Certainly useful...looking on the bright side of things.

Arturo, Without the sunny side of life, we would be most miserable. Your visits always a delight. Sara

Victor, We could not drink it so mother said to save it for our baths. That many buckets we did not have to draw out of the well. This was back in the day when we did not have a pump in the well nor running water in the house nor hot water heater. Those were some rough years. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Necessity is the mother of all invention, it is said, old man winter is an inventor. The rain had to leak through the ceiling so that his invention could became a reality. We have found that staying at home a lot more these days due to the pandemic, we have saved money, more than we dreamt we ever would, as we are giving our business a real boost from home, both having the same interest at heart. Hugs and blessings Jennifer.
