Deliverance
The battle ensues,
In my mind it ebbs and flows.
Life mockingly,
Delivers unrelenting blows.
Natural inclinations,
Fuel my will to live.
For this heart of mine,
Has so much to offer,
So much to give.
Unwillingly, a stranger;
An enigma I have become.
Friendship and love, from me,
So many have pulled away from.
Mirrors reflect back,
Images I no longer know.
My heart turned to rock,
Yet seeds of hope upon it,
I continue to wishfully throw.
Hoping for only one,
Just one, finally to take root
and grow.
Confident, undoubting,
I always knew my heart
the way to lead.
Unsure, scared,
Only self-doubt, my mind
now seems to feed.
Waves of various emotions,
Flood my brain each and every night.
For those who love me,
For mom;
I will continue this
Fearsome fight.
Visions of joy again,
Fleetingly reveal sparks of light.
For darkness will not win;
Not today,
No, not this time tonight.
