Delighted By Her Sweetness
Blips of sunlight on a dappled brick garden path led me to
experiment with a glimpse, and then a peek.
I was immediately mesmerized by the beauty I found inside
The over-sized garden gate which had been left propped open
in the middle of the shadow trees smiled as I gazed.
The old-fashioned brick walkway was crooked in its wisdom.
Covered with bits and tastes of lacy moss, at brick corners.
The path, the fence and the gate enhanced the pinks and oranges of the garden.
Delicate flowers with unknown names rose on my right, smiling.
Being an amazed gazer, I took in my fill, breathing in this beauty.
Shaded overbearing leaves of an explosive curiously protective tree
lent shelter to this gorgeous garden.
I noted a lone pot of powder blue,
hiding in a dark corner, surrounded
by gray shale protectors.
She is not the prettiest pot I have ever seen,
but she delights me with her soft unassuming
sweetness.
