Defying Aphrodite

Defying Aphrodite

I died prior the day I lived
Suffocated even before I breathe
the chants of your heartbeat echoes vanity
stating names, which never meant to be

He knocks through my window
Chase the odds against time
embracing the complexities of our beings
Tease the possibilities of unknown reality

The lavishness of the sweet letters
The endurance of proving one's identity
Lie if you must, tell no one what it was
The fallacy of the circumstances
Concealed behind each lines
One word, one answer
One smile, One laugh
Then it's all one hell of a night talking

But I knew before it has been spoken
Understood before it has been discovered
the today is the futility of tomorrow
to end is the beginning

This is what I want
Because this is what to be expected
This is what I told you
Because this what it should be
The truth remains-
We cannot own this mystery

Yet,
I am the one who ended up broken
Challenged the chances, but retreated
and shamelessly begs for one last time,
that if we cannot defy the order,
Can we at least change the horizon
that in between maybe’s
the nameless feelings did exist
