deforestation

There, where it has led us,
Deforestation,
Such high temperatures,
That you can die in your own house,
Temperatures, so high,
May the rivers of Africa perish,
There, where it has led us,
Cities that are thirsty,
Endangered elephants,
An overpopulated world,
Slowly warming oceans,
who cover themselves with jellyfish,
That’s where it got us,
Forests that are fading,
All the scourges of ancient Egypt,
At the gates of Europe,
The pink flamingos soon on the Seine,
The deserts will they replace the arboreal plains,
Will the planet survive?

Sad that it is happening all over the world, but we each individually can only do so much if we own any land, we can always plant some plants to help and sometimes if the plot is large enough, we can plant at least one tree. Thank you for writing this. Sara K.

So sad, but true, Yann. Your poem highlights the topic well. Best wishes.

Too many trees have been cut down, particularly in the Amazon. It's so sad. I enjoyed reading this one
