Defining Love:

I was once asked to define love
Love a four-letter word
Filled with passion

Yet break hearts
Cause war
Divide homes

Defining Love comes easy
To those who are in love
But to the ones

Whose hearts were broken
Love is the begging of war
Love is the pain that they still endure

Love has many definitions
But I have not been able to explore
The true meaning of that four-letter word

‘LOVE’
I once believed that Love was the art of forgiveness
But I have discovered that Love carries a torch

To say, I understand would be a lie
To pretend would be untrue
I am still confused

As I was the day you first walked out the door
Love has been kind
But in my life I was blind

Love is just a word
That I cannot define
And I am afraid I may not find.

This is an excellent write, Patricia. I have often thought that for a person to write about love one must be in love. Simply because the memory of being in love taste bitter. Then it takes on a whole different meaning. I'm giving this poem A7.
