Defined Not

Even if you posses
the most brilliant mind
I know of one thing
you can never define.

Study the world
of fiction and facts
study it all
till your brain cracks.

I'm sure, you shall never
find the meaning
for it's only told
in a special feeling.

A feeling that paints a smile
upon your heart
and does not fade
like a piece of art.

For it's not something
you can define
it's too wonderful
and so rare to find.

You make a most important point with poetic beauty, on what really matters in life. Of course I am all for the importance of education, but I hear you loud and clear and certainly agree. Love, Shar

How right you are, Maryam! "Feelings" cannot be defined by studying "fiction and facts." Feelings come from our hearts, not from textbooks. Brilliant observation in a beautifully written poem! Love, Carolyn
