Deeper Than Love

I was hoping you would give me
Enough rope to hang myself
At least it would have been better
If you had killed me,
Left me dead after the kill
You left me breathing:
Thoughts of you still hanging in my mind
What were you even doing in my dreams?
Only last night you were there
Trying to confirm something, of course,
That you do not care at all.
If you could want to face it all
You would tell me, even a whisper
Would save my tattered, torn mind:
You left me feeling so incomplete,
I cannot tell what I was looking for,
Now that you placed me in that position;
I was looking for feeling
That feels deeper than love:
An undefined affair, that flows so free
Free as the river, the river of wishes,
Wishes, hidden truths.
I was so blind to think you were the one
In this whole world I could have
Played the game with, how blind, how blind.
I was not blind for long
I never look with a blinked eye.
