The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Deeper Still

The tragic current of design
Holding it close will break my mind
And so I let the current go
Sweeping me down through the undertow

My body tries to catch its breath
My spirit holds on because there’s not much left
More rocks to crush my fragile soul
I just can’t hold on, so I let them go

Deeper into the pains of time
Breaking my body and stripping my mind
I pray there’s nothing more to come
Until I look down and I lose the sun

And now the fate that I denied
All alone with the currents that twist my mind
Nowhere to turn and swim away
As the darkness I see will only ever betray

I’ve lost my body, spirit, soul
I can no longer desire anything I know
Only the part that steals her breath
Because the creature I am is in love with death
