Deeper Emotions 'Official Poem'
Humans have been around for a long time,
But even now we do not know the full reaches of our mind,
Nor do we know what we can really do,
Or what’s next for us as a species.
To me and probably others,
There's one thing I feel we have yet to fully explain.
Emotions are a peculiar thing,
We can't quite control them.
Some emotions shake us to our cores,
Rattle our bones,
Bring us to our knees.
When we think of things,
We bring a new emotion forth from our thoughts,
To wonder is to explore,
Explore what we feel,
Explore how it makes us feel.
To find within our minds,
what might be known or unknown.
When our emotions are brought forth,
We must do something else.
To feel is to accept,
What might come as unexpected to us
You always think you will feel a certain way,
When an old memory is brought into the light.
We always say we won't cry,
Or we won't laugh,
But we always do.
A tragic memoir,
Or a funny joke you heard once.
All these things we feel,
The sadness,
The happiness,
They are important in our life.
They shape us,
They show others who we are.
To see our emotions,
To see what we do,
Is the true way to express yourself.
To see is to shine,
Brighter than the sun that blinds us.
