Deep Depression
A sullen sadness saturates my heart and soul
nothing outside of death warrants a smile.
Hope lays dormant;
a dusty dream.
I am in a dark place where there is no sunshine;
a place where happiness does not exist.
I skirt the fringes of reality,
like a shadow of a shadow cast in darkness.
Numb to all but oblivion;
why would anyone rescue me?
I am nothing;
a speck of dust.
