Deep Depression
A sullen sadness saturates my heart and soul:
nothing, outside of death, warrants a smile.
Hope lies dormant;
a dusty dream.
I am in a dark place where there is no sunshine;
a place where happiness does not exist.
I skirt the fringes of reality,
like a shadow of a shadow, cast in darkness.
Numb to all but oblivion
why would anyone rescue me?
I'm nothing, but
a speck of dust.
