Deep Blue......

Deep blue curls
To give me rise into motion

Spiritually I glide

on a frozen moment in time
Atop the power beneath me

Softly I walk across her face
With cold white hair all around me

She sings a song of the universe
While we dance only briefly
   Never to meet again
Less I paddle out to find her.

The imagery of this is great. The opening lines are an excellent introduction as it holds so many images (sea, hair, etc). there is a lovely tenderness to it such as the line 'She sings a song of the universe'. the theme shares something with the Stevie Smith poem 'Waving but drowning' but this is far more satisfying.

I enjoyed this poem but am curious but the metaphor of "the cold white hair all around me". I thought it was beautifully written. Randy
