Dedicated To Sobriety

I never saw the light
Until I stopped that night.
Bottle in my hand
I had to take a stand.

Waking up each morn
Wishin I’d not been born
For the pounding in my head
Repeatedly said,

“Even though it’s morn
You don’t have to ignore
The wanting from your lip
Just have another sip.”

I never saw the light
Until I stopped that night.
Bottle in my hand
I had to take a stand.

Sad I could not recall
Sobriety at all.
Last time I remember
Maybe 2 years ago November?

A sickness of the mind
A daily, suppressing grind.
A slave to utter madness
Creating tangled messes.

Bottle in my hand
I had to take a stand.
I never saw the light
Until I stopped that night.

*Dedicated to my sobriety*

Booze you should not choose, because it makes you lose. This ode to sobriety is good poetry. I have to see some more from thee.

In this you are correct- when it comes to booze, REJECT!
