Declaration

I have suffered mistakes,
each one a reminder
of the fortune
winging your smile
to my door.

I have tripped and fallen,
each step a minefield
to be loved
surging my reason
to the fore.

I have worn the crown,
each thorn a Godsend
in a way
fitting my voice
to the phrase.

I have clinched the moon,
each night a changeling
an adjustment
setting my language
to it's ways.

I have struck on you,
each touch a binding
at the root
bearing my being
to it's rest.

I have declared
my confirmation
of a love
bestowed commitment
to your bequest.
