The Creek was created to discourage certain poets who are targeted. I was cordially invited to join, I had a go and had some fun, until I realized this just wasn't right. The cruel verses used were alarming and hurtful to others. I stepped off. This is an encouraging site for poets who are here to learn forms and make friends, not the opposite. If you' feel you are beng harrassed and would like more infomation on this subject please soupmail me.

Deception In Soup Creek There once was a town called Soup Creek amiable and quaint Filled with all these characters, a perfect picture they'd paint It was founded to protect the innocent Where one was welcome to come visit A bold western saga exquisite A Mayor, a Sheriff, a saloon proprietor A bar owner, also a realtor What comes next you can’t make it up, is true A charlatan Sheriff who already knew The saloon owner was a phony too This is the tale what we thought a young fem, Claimed she was being stalked by men who used different user names All the while she was doing the same Many here feel used by her deception Manipulated for her own protection Even I was dragged in To keep the adventure going I was a bit overzealous Got a vibe she was jealous Cause I added a twist And then there’s this… Whose face is it? Someone off the internet Identity theft is what I saw Or is madam above the law I uncovered a foul devious charade Just ego and hubris on parade Meanwhile she had Told a few folks who also were played Madam’s her old self, and is back With fists ready to attack Writing about the value of friends Pshaw, a victim again, it never ends I don’t have the time for this I’ll give it to you quick, Ma`am, Miss What were you thinking, is it mental illness? Tell the saloon owner, who invites us in for a drink What in heavens name would Milton think? I know I should move on gracefully But it just didn't settle right with me If lies and deception are your lot At least you can try better not to get caught

Oh my, delving into the cunning core of deception humor aye. Why did the fake plant never get caught? Because it was a master of dis-leaf-ment! Glad you got my update. This certain individual Tom speaks of, (I learned all this year) has a young at heart personality, droll witted and awesome poet and friend to many here. He spreads the Gospel. So, as the saying goes "Mean people suck!" I think that some need to hate on others, it's in their nature and themselves call their group the mean women and men's club. This is an update of what I have researched on this story.

Yes, poems that marginalize, ridicule, defame or attempt to bully and intimidate other poets has no place on PS, or anywhere for that matter. Kudos to you Anaya for taking a stand. Sadly, such targeted poetry continues, though in relative obscurity where it belongs

Hi Tommy, I wasn't sure if you'd seen "Deception In Soup Creek" and since I was here to do an update, I thought I would let you know, in case you didn't know, ha. Thank you for caring, you do so much for PS uniting poets, and helping young poets get a start. TY for your visit, I appreciate it! :)

This a very underhanded way for a poet to behave, her deception is unforgettable.

Dear Robert, what's really sad is that I joined PS because it is a warm and caring community for poets to come together through the contests and comments. I was fooled and many others as well, when someone who has two accounts and deceits' with a fake profile. I especially feel for Milton, he was fooled until the very end. She never showed remorse until then this poem on deception shall stay. She had been elated with all the attention she was getting, when trying to get the Dingo kid banished... she was banished instead. She is back using her old account.

I'm afraid that's not the case Anaya, the Creek story came about because a certain individual returned and was stirring the soup bowl. I was protecting no one. Tom

Thanks for your concern Stephan. Soup Creek was invented by Tom Cunningham to protect the poetess, she who claimed of being stalked by guys, she is a creation of an elder poetess here. Not too many poets knew this, especially Milton, Tom knowing, emailed her when she was locked out. A sad hoax!. We'll see what Tom decides to do.

Well I'll admit it came as a bit of a shock but I think it's best that all concerned try and put it behind us and move on, I know some might struggle to accept it but lifes too short to bear grudges and what's done is done. PS is not a battleground and we should use it to read and write poetry. By the way it's Milton Creek not Soup Creek lol. Tom

I'm back with an update, Sir Tom. I am happy to see that Milton Creek, formerly Soup Creek has changed, no longer do I see any harm or hurtful verse targeting other poets. Thank you for that. If anyone has any questions on being harassed and or targeted, please soupmail me.

Thank you, Tom, I agree! I'm moving on to the friends I left behind! The tides which ebbed, now freely to more friendly and welcoming shores— let us celebrate together on the warm sands of friendship—Anaya :)

Anaya, I have made choices that I felt I had to make at the time. Folk didn't understand why I did. I'm not perfect ( no one is). With that being said, I see why you are frustrated, but we all must give each other a bit more grace and not judge. Try to gain an understanding and in turn, show support. PS, this site is primarily about poetry. Writing it and sharing. I try to stay away from drama. I have too much drama in real life-Alexis

wow! this whole thing is so confusing to me, anaya! i was unaware of all this as it was going on and only recently found out a tiny part of it, but it has obviously affected you very deeply and you've expressed your frustration very well. i don't know what to think. i guess it's better to just stick to reading the poems without knowing the drama behind them...

Me too, Ilene, I was going over the details, and although it doesn't make me feel any better, it's a message I must send off., I left a few friends here because of her deception. It's an opportunity to rekindle friendships I left behind. I will move on of course and write pieces on my autobiography.
