December, December

December, December,
No lawns to be mowed,
How grateful am I,
For the fact that it snowed.

No weeds that need pulling,
No trimming the trees,
No flowers need planting,
No tetanus disease.

No lovebirds are singing,
No flowers' bright show,
No butterflies bringing,
A colorful glow.

No garden to harvest,
No strawberry pie,
No rocket's red glare,
On the fourth of July.

July and December,
Which month is the best?
I think I'll take April,
And skip all the rest!

This was fun to read. I felt like the fairy in my picture and was dancing to your words. I see you had a win with this too. Belated congratulations to you Bryan. (btw, I read your comment further down and your poem is not lousy) Emilia : )

The only reason I ask for dates is because it is the only way I know it is a new poem..I don't like disqualifying people...Like to give them an opportunity to showcase their poems.

A nice poem Bryan.. It would have finished a lot higher, however, I did state in the contest instructions to include a date, or it would finish lower.. Please remember next time. Congratulations on your placement in the contest..

Not a problem, I have been including dates on all my contest poems lately, but somehow I missed this one. You probably should have disqualified me altogether . . . but I do appreciate your generosity. It was a lousy poem anyway. Thanks again
