December Days

Dark dreary December days
Mostly gray and white
The atmosphere depressing.
More night than day
My brain starving.
Why wasn’t I designed to hibernate?
To cuddle up and dream about better days.
It would be great
I could lose weight
While doing nothing.
It’s a win win
But no, not this time around.
Or forever for that matter.
I will have to buck up
Lift my chin, dust the snow off.
Put that fake smile on.
Preheat the car
And keep truck’in.
There’s no hibernating
That’s just a dream.
I have to wake up to the reality
I live in inevitably
In Minnesota.

Wow, that is a cold state! I was born in New York, we moved west when I was little, we don't see too much snowfall here, but once in awhile we are surprised with snow on saguaros, rare and beautiful. Stay warm, wishing you the best, and prayers for extra sunshine! <3

My son lives in Minnesota! Oh my that can’t be called cold but frozen tundra! I laughed the time I went to make a snowball and the powder fell from my gloved hand…I was like what is this! I grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY and don’t remember that kind of snow. Stay warm, friend!
