Decades Off

Changes immanent a key Voices lost in puberty Flounders all in uniform Fearful of the social norm You had no choice You paid the price What fell on your body Like water and ice Thrown from the channel You struggle in air Mind racing nowhere You stand up and stare Now decades later you pause and concede All memories are phantom all money is greed The child that you lost the only one true In a spasm of fate youth was stolen from you
