Decadence
'Tis the end of an era my friend,
Your glistening heart as found solace
Upon this very land.
Does Ulysses not sit with you still?
Does He not speak with you in your dreams?
Your thoughts have changed my friend,
Your light has been crowned by a remorseful shadow
And you weep as the willow.
Has Thor shown you ways of war?
Has Achilles revealed true weakness?
You have become sullen my friend,
Your life's passage seems to be laden with thorns
And your song is less sweet.
Has Venus not shown you the ways of love?
Has Poseidon not shown you the many depths?
Your soul seems somewhat frail my friend,
The whites of your eyes are not as pure
And their pools seem shallow.
Has Hera forsaken you?
Has Diana not shown you her arrow's power?
'Tis not the way my friend,
Your destiny lies in hope and strength
Upon this very land.
