Debt
Debt is the contender,
holding you hostage.
bounding you to prison,
Leaving you exhausted!
Never to know freedom,
0r taste the joy thereof.
Debt is an enemy,
undeserving of your love!
Debt makes you a servant,
to the lender, from whom it comes.
Working you to death,
so you can pay the sum!
Now wouldn’t it be better?
to be the one to lend.
To be used of God,
to bring this cycle to an end!
In Christ you’ve been blessed!
in thy working of thine hands,
Oh happy is the man;
who heeds and understands.
High above ONLY,
not wallowing down beneath.
The Lord has made his children,
the head; not the tail of defeat!
Now, to all who are wondering,
of the debt in which I speak.
It is ALL your balances,
that leaves you scared and weak!
For in the world it is common,
to live a life that owes.
To never know God’s peace,
while your tab overflows!
But what if all was paid?
through Jesus, on the cross!
That baggage would you keep?
never counting the cost!
You can only serve one master,
Which will you chose?
The debt that holds you bondage,
Or the One, who brought good news?
