Notes About The Poem

Deathly Mauve Roses

I cannot see a mauve rose without falling tears,
mother-  even after all these long years;
        the sweet scent makes me weep, weep,
I close my eyes and see them all again, draped;
on your casket- on the ground some have escaped,
   most days, I can bury this memory deep, deep.
