Death, the Intruder

Always wondered what its like to be an adult son, because my father died early. Longed to see the expression on grandmother's face at the sight of my daughter. I will never experience growing old with four sibling who died before age 60. Wondered. Longed. Never to know. It's the cruel offerings of death, the intruder. 072520PSCtest, Four Lines Poetry, Constance La France. 3P

This introspection is deeply touching. I have five siblings and only occasionally do I think of my luck that they are all healthy. Your poem is a reminder not to take these blessings for granted.

Curtis, your poem brought tears to my eyes as I thought of how it must have felt to lose your father at a young age -- and four siblings as well. Beautifully written! Congratulations on your win.
