Death of a Famed Poet

A poet has died 
    and the people mourn
Well some of the people 
   All poets should realize 
  that there is  
a large block of people 
   who never read poems 
And as for all of you out there who are published 
   there will be those 
      who do not love your work
The death of a poet 
   makes all of the thousands of poets 
out there in the darkness 
   who write poems 
feel the winds of mortality blowing

Leaving lasting words of wisdom behind for our loved ones and friends is all we should be focusing on, as writers. Being a poet is not all about being the best.... I really like the wise message that you are sending here, Matthew. Great work!

yes, this is especially true lately at Soup with recent deaths here. I really enjoyed this one. To answer your questions. I did not vote at all in the last election. This is a republican state and because of the damn electoral college, my vote for anyone not democrat is wasted here. I really wish elections were based on popular elections. Like in many other countries. AS for swing dancing in CA. that sounds fun. I enjoyed square dance in the fifth grade and we always did shows for our parents.
