Death Is Not Goodbye
Death is not goodbye
your soul has just gone on ahead
and waits there patiently for me
ensuring death I will not dread
Death is not the end
so my dear until we meet again
you went first to pave the way
you left your love to ease my pain
Death left me your essence
when grief and tears begin to flow
your aura like a gentle hug
transports me to a calm plateau
Death left me alone
you were never coming home
grief consumes my waking hours
I live a life in monochrome
Death takes me at last
now tired and weak solace I seek
I see you there before me
as your fingers softly brush my cheek
So as you gently take my hand
and guide me through Death’s door
the Angels grant divine salvation
our souls entwined forevermore
