Death From Sins

Unveiling of the righteous King has come.
To bring a peace upon the ravaged land.
A war was fought, the loser did succumb.
The soldiers now are just, by King's command.
A Prince of evil tried to claim his realm,
And tethered people to a hopeless place.
With blade from sword and chains to overwhelm.
He stole and pillaged all without disgrace.
A brother older strode to their defense.
From ancient land to where a prison held.
He paid a ransom held at great expense,
And slayed the tyrant Prince his anger quelled.

The throne he lusted for the Prince had claimed.
Brought anger forth from rightful King he blamed.

Frederic, loved this sonnet and the metaphoric take on the theme of "sin in the kingdom" Thanks for participating in the contest

One of your best. I know I have said that a couple dozen times. The iambic pentameter is flawless, and read like riding a horse in perfect canter, was so cool reading in this profound cadence. Congrats FP. Thomas

You got a voice mail, which is good. Maybe I was wrong, thought when I called the # was disconnected. I will try it again and let you know. I guess it could be he wants nothing to do with me but we were close friends for several years >> though others were pushing gossip and on him. Because of this our friendship was tenuous at times, but he would always come back and apologize for getting upset and listening to others chatter. Who knows? I will let you know. Thank you for your efforts Frederic. No matter what happens with he and me, I hope he is all right, that's the main thing. Thomas
