Death At My Door

I got my head in a vise, And I won't think twice, I'm ready to squeeze, Been brought to my knees, By my lover, a heart-tease... Rain splatters on the window, The wind howling against my door, I sit here, scared to shet, Of what, I am not sure... There's someone outside, Waitin' to come in, Why, I can't be sure, But my blood has grown so thin, I can not much more, endure... Devils circle over me, and flies about my head... I awoke so scared this morning... I felt that I'd soon be dead... Sharp nails claw at my door, And my heart is set to stop, I fear my fear so bad, My God, it's gotta drop... A misty presence fills my room, And ghosts dance before my eye, I grasp my heart in mortal fear, And know I'm gonna die... Guns and dogs, and wire fence Can't help me no more... For death has come to take me, He's waiting at my door... I cough up my last breath, and open up the door, I'd rather see my death, Than suffer anymore... Time passes, I am gone... Snow falls, on my lonely grave... I fell before my fears, For I was not so brave... Death welcomes me... And I do it... Cause life was full of pain, I'd rather die than suffer more, No sunshine, only rain.
