Death

As I kneel beside you
My emotions are overwhelming

My anger is like a wild raging fire
My pain is eating me alive
But my sorrow, is just too much to handle

I want to fight for you, but I cannot
All I can do is watch
Watch you slip away

Your last breath is like a knife
Being plunged into my heart
A knife, I can never remove

As I hold your limp body in my arms
I cry uncontrollably
My tears washing over your cold, pale face

I collapse beside you
Drained of everything I have

I am fading with you
Except I will return
Without you

Much pain in your poems. Keep writing. Let loose on paper. Never Never Never put your eyes down for anyone. Vince

Awesome ending ... the truth rings like a bell to capture the vulnerability and the emptiness with death.
