Dearest Sunlight, I Wait With Bated Breath

Dearest Sunlight, I Wait With Bated Breath Dearest sunlight has thy glow ran away Into a hideous canyon to hide Please to dawn's glorious hour this I pray Return, forgive me my arrogant pride I watch night sky, its vast, glittering glows Yet this lonely soul inward deeply cries Beauty abounds as a heavenly show Whilst on this sadden earth, love too oft dies. Dearest sunlight, have mercy, please return Life without you leaves but a bitter taste And in these consuming fires heart so burns While once so happy now all seems a waste. Dearest sunlight, I wait with bated breath. Life without you, tis but a fearsome death. Robert J. Lindley, 7-07-2022 Sonnet >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Note : Composed early this morn, born from a dream. As the dawn comes, it heart pleading for peace flies morning dove, love borne with its release but mankind blinded by world's scathing lies walks a doomed path, such truth thus denies. Neither shall ignorance, such dark defend, When evil was clasped as busom friend. Copyright © Robert Lindley | Year Posted 2022

Robert, your piece is exquisitely crafted. Love possesses the capacity to rekindle within a receptive soul. It is not an act of treachery or imprudent undertaking to acknowledge that mankind was not fashioned to traverse this world in solitude.

The search for that sunlight can sometimes be long and frustrating; when it returns...glorious. Excellent lines and full of deep thoughts. The bird flies with no worries other than for its' own; though they see all of the evil in this world, they can still remain separate from much of it. Well worded and thought-provoking.

Yes, when one gets used to traveling in the dark it seems to be normal. If light breaks through, we see truth. Which is a great thing. GOD bless.

Love has the ability to return to a fertile heart. It is neither a a betrayal nor a reckless enterprise to honour the fact that man was not designed to travel alone. Regards, Suzette

Quite true my friend. We are by design of need for a life mate, a soul mate. In youth we are missing so much wisdom and we make many mistakes. I know that I did that. Thank you for commenting. God bless.

And yes, this is about a beautiful girl I lost by my being young and foolish. That was a terrible 8 months until I happened upon another ravishingly beautiful princess. This poem is an edit of a former poem.
