Dear Sweet Queen of Vanity
I write this letter to bid you a final farewell.
and I truly hope it finds you well and fair.
You see I’ve based my life upon your
being,
and every vain symbol and element you
bare.
But now the time has come to cut you
loose,
and sever this bond you and I have
created.
I wish to live my life not based upon looks;
nor this persona of beauty you have
delegated.
I know it won’t take very long to replace
me –
For others like me you will certainly
convene.
Who will rally in pride and assemble in
deceit,
all in the name of Sweet Vanity their
Queen.
They will bow their heads, proclaim their
trust,
in you, my Sweet Queen and irrefutably
follow.
Bidding well to their pride, masked in
conceit –
Your pill of selfishness they’ll surely
swallow.
But as for you and I, we will no longer exist
–
in an egotistic relationship, shallow and
bleak.
I must move on and proclaim my lost
throne,
of the missing girl now superficial and
weak.
You see I’ve lived the hell and know too
well,
the curse you have upon the weak and
weary.
My beauty lies within, and not what is
seen –
Goodbye my Sweet Queen of Vanities
dreary.
