Dear Mudlark
As I slowly write this song,
I feel I am where I belong,
In the serenity of my heart,
I find the treasure of my art,
Most go looking for gold and jewels,
What are they but ignorant fools,
To search for true treasures I assure,
Either you dive down in legend or lore,
Or write something new and true,
For you can find true peace then too,
As I tame a swirling storm,
Afraid I’d break a serious norm,
I pour my heart out on paper,
As all sadness and pain turn to vapour,
I find what I look for in this world,
To know it slept in my heart all curled,
I find peace and joy and love and calm,
As they lay sleepily in my palm,
All my feelings I pour out,
About me and my heart about,
I have now told you all,
Every detail big and small.
