Dear Mother Says

Dear mother says she wants me to be the better outcome
She's says daughter number 1 is not something she's proud of
Dear mother says she wants to live off my paycheck
well not in those exact words
but she did say she wanted me to make a salary
that could support her so she could stop working
Dear mother says she doesn't want me to become a disappointment
so I strive real hard so that her heart won't get broken twice
My mommy thinks she deserves compensation for raising me right
and in a way she's correct I should achieve my very best to make her proud
But sometimes I feel like I'm the second chance
the daughter that hasn't yet screwed up
I have so much weight on my back
                        The burden's endless
                                    I need to become something
at least that's what Dear mother says
