Dear Liver
If I told you I'm sorry
Would you forgive me
More than once I know
I've put you through some hell
Its apparent that you can't leave
Or walk out on me, but its plain to see
Dear liver
I didn't do this on my own
There's been broken hearts
College bars
A dirt road romance that hit me real hard
And yes you can't forget all those slow George Jones songs
I've seen blues eye cry in the rain
Woken up to numbness and right side pain
Dear liver
I didn't do this on my own
Jim and Jack both helped me
Instill some pain on you
I tried to say no, but the Turkey
Won out a time or two
If I'd known what I couldn't see
How my bad decisions would come back to haunt me
Dear liver, please know
I didn't do this on my own
There's been broken hearts
College bars
A dirt road romance that hit me real hard
And yes you can't forget, all those slow George Jones songs
I've seen blues eye cry in the rain
Woken up to numbness and right side pain
Dear liver
I didn't do this on my own
I tried to fight my demons
And it came at our expense
I only wish I'd had a little less hurt
And a lot more common sense
Please don't leave me now I need you
And I hope my case has shown
Dear liver
I didn't do this on my own
Dear liver
I didn't do this on my own
