Dear John
Dear John
I heard the news today oh boy
About the way in which you passed away
To tears and cries that shook the world
From Liverpool to Foreign Lands
People still sing along to the words of the Beatle Band
Even if they don't understand
Because the mark of your poetry transcends despair
And though we lost you to the war
Your records still adorn the walls of music stores
Where young musicians flock to listen to timeless chords
To the 1 and only
The very reverend
Mr John Lennon
Gods very own Poet Lauriet sent from Heaven
A working class hero
Exposed to the Mass
Imagination
Is lost to the world oh boy
I heard the news today oh boy
Oh boy , Oh boy
There goes the sun
Obstructed by the diamond skies
On strawberry fields
Where Sergeant Pepper and his band
Play to the beat of the last stand
As a procession of mourners stop and stare
At the feet of a fallen king
They stop and sing
As Joy they bring
All you need is Love
Love
Love is all you need
All together now
